Abigail Johnson is 57 years old American business titan known for being the president and chief executive officer of Fidelity Investments. She also holds the sister company, Fidelity International as its chairman. She has earned her fortune by holding an estimated 24.5% stakes in company from a total of 49% stakes of Johnson family. In 2018, she made it to 5th position among the most powerful woman in the world as per Forbes.
Early Life
Abigail was born on 19th December, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts, United States as Abigail Pierrepont Johnson to Elizabeth Hodges Johnson and Edward C. Johnson III. She was raised in family with her brother; Edward C. Johnson IV and sister; Elizabeth Johnson. For education she attended Hobart and William Smith Colleges earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in art history in 1984. She later completed her MBA from Harvard Business School.
Career
Abigail started her career by joining as a consultant in 1985 at Booz Allen Hamilton. Later she joined the Fidelity Investments, a multinational financial services
corporation based in Boston, Massachusetts as analyst and portfolio manager in 1988. This company came into existence in 1946 by the efforts of her grandfather Edward C. Johnson II and now operates as a brokerage firm, provides fund distribution and investment advice, go for wealth management, retirement services, clearance and life insurance plus management of mutual funds.
She next got appointed for the executive position in the firm in 1997 followed by being the president in 2012 and CEO since 2014. During her leadership, she focused on urging her managers to take risks and revitalize mutual funds thus making company more customer-oriented and profited from competitors wrong decisions. She brought in total $100 billion added to the company’s mutual funds. Aside from her role in Fidelity Investment she is also a member of Committee on Capital Markets Regulation and is member of the board of directors of the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association. The Financial Services Forum even appointed her to serve on the board thus making her the first and only woman to do so.

Personal Life
She got married to Christopher John McKown in 1988 and is mother of two beautiful daughters. Her first daughter is in college whereas the second one is in high school.
