Son of Ata Johnson and Rocky Johnson was born in Hayward, California on 2nd May, 1972. He completed his studies from Richmond Road Primary School and President William McKinley High School. Later he joined football and played in various tournaments but an injury sidelined him from his football career. He graduated from University of Miami in 1995 in Bachelor of General Studies in criminology and physiology.

Dawyne started his initial career as a footballer playing at defensive tackle position from Miami college till 1994 achieving a career highlight of AP Poll national Champion but unfortunately due to injury left it out and moved towards wrestling career where he achieved the fame with his ring name, The Rock from 1996 to 2004 under company name Attitude Era. He became the first third-generation wrestler in company’s history. He re-entered in WWE from 2011-13 making a sporadic appearance but then decided to concentrate on his acting career which he started by making his first debut from movie, The Scorpion King in 2002. He got the real fame by starring as Luke Hobbs in the Fast and the Furious franchise. At present, he is working for his upcoming movies, Fighting with My Family and Hobbs & Shaw in 2019.
