American Idol Introduction
American Idol is one of the world’s most popular singing competition that has 15 seasons since its debut in 2002. Over the years, there are many celebrities that served as the judge in this television series that include Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler, Harry Connick Jr., Kara DioGuardi, Paula Abdul, Nicki Minaj, and Keith Urban. This show has been hugely popular among the audience in the United States and Canada.
American Idol Selection Procedure
There is a selection process set by the television team for choosing the winner of the show out of thousands of candidates. It has been explained in detail below:
• Eligibility
First of all, the candidates need to be between the age of 15 & 28 years. Other than that, they need to be the residents of United States and shouldn’t have any contract with a recording studio.
• Initial Auditions
There are three set of cuts in the initial auditions that include a brief audition, producer’s auditions, and judges auditions.
• Hollywood Week and Las Vegas Round
After passing previous stage, the candidates perform in the Hollywood as a group or individually. There are certain stages that the candidates have to pass for moving to next round.
• Audience Voting
The candidates are selected on the basis of public vote from the semi-finals round. Here, the wildcard entries also returned in the competition at this stage.

• Finals
The finals generally last for eleven weeks in this television series. The finalists have to perform songs here on the basis of various themes.
• Season Finale
There is a two-hour special episode telecasted at the end of each season where the name of thewinner is announced. The season finale took place at the various places over the years.
