Ryan Tannehill began his career with NFL in year 2012; Miami Dolphins selected Tannehill with the 8th overall pick. On July 28, 2012, Tannehill signed his four year rookie contract with the Dolphins worth approx. $12.70 million. On August 20, 2012, Tannehill was named the starting quarterback for the season opener against the Houston Texans. In 2012 season, Tannehill started his first career regular game which ended in 30-10 loss. Tannehill became the fifth quarterback in team history to surpass 3,000 passing yards in that season.
