Michael Bloomberg was born on February 14, 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts. His education was completed from Johns Hopkins University and graduated with Bachelors Science degree in 1964. He further attended Harvard Business School and also earned Master Degree of Business Administration in 1966.

Michael Bloomberg is the founder and plays a major role in the start-up of ‘Bloomberg LP’ financial software and Data Company. The headquarters of Bloomberg LP is located at New York City. It provides aid to financial companies in form of data software’s and equity trading and analysis.
Talking about the formation and of Bloomberg LP and Michael Bloomberg’s career development, Michael Bloomberg career was started with a job in Wall Street Investment Bank, named ‘Salomon Brothers’. He became the general partner of the bank in 1973. The bank was taken over Phibro Corporation in 1981 and he was given $10 million, with that money Bloomberg sat up a company named ‘Innovative Market Systems’. This company was later renamed as ‘Bloomberg LP’ it introduced various products named Bloomberg News, Bloomberg Message etc. However he soon left his position to pursue his political career. In 2001, Bloomberg decided to run for the Mayor of New York City as a member of Republican Party Ticket. He won the election as 108th mayor of New York City on January 1, 2002. While running for the second term, he spent almost $80 million as part of promotion campaign and he was re-elected as the mayor again in 2005 and for third time consecutively in 2009. Being a mayor he brought many social reforms, same sex marriage, and citizenship for illegal immigrants and etc. His third term as the Mayor of New York City ended in 2013. In January 2014, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon announced that he had appointed Bloomberg as his Special Envoy for Cities and Climate Change. Bloomberg also regained the position of CEO in Bloomberg L.P. at the end of 2014.

Michael Bloomberg divorced his wife in year 1995, due to growing incompatibilities. He is presently in relationship with former New York State banking Superintendent Diana Taylor.
