Kirsten Gillibrand was born on December 9, 1966 as Kirsten Elizabeth Rutnik in New York, United States to parents Douglas Paul Rutnikand Polly Edwina Noonan who both were attorneys. She has two siblings, being the middle child; she has one elder brother and one younger sister. Talking about the education Gillibrand, she has attended all women’s private Emma Willard School in Troy, New York. After school, she has done studies from Dartmouth College. She has done her J.D degree from UCLA School of Law.
Career
Kirsten Gillibrand started her career as attorney just after completing her law education; she became an associate with Davis Polk and Wardwell, a law firm based in Manhattan.Kirsten also got involved with a National Democratic Committee program which was a women’s
leadership forum and met Hilary Clinton there. Kirsten then began working on Hillary Clinton’s year 2000 U.S. Senate campaign and their bond nurtured. In 2006, she began her own campaign for the US Representative for New York’s 20th congressional district and with the support of Bill and Hilary Clinton as well as some other democrat heavyweights, she won the election.She was sworn in on the 26th of January 2009 and became the youngest senator of the 111th Congress. And in year 2012, she became the U.S Senator and is holding that position till today.

Kirsten Gillibrand is married to her husband Jonathan Gillibrand, who is a venture capitalist. They tied the wedding knot in year 2001, because they fell in love after meeting on a blind date. Their marriage venue was Catgolic Church in Manhattan.
