Melania Trump is famous for being the First Lady of the United States on January 20, 2017, when her husband, Donald Trump, became the 45th president of the United States.
Aside from this, she is also known for her career in modeling and for being the second foreign-born US First Lady after Louisa Adams.
Recently, she has launched the, Be Best initiative, in 2018 having the main focus on children by ending cyberbullying.
Melania was born on 26th April 1970 at Novo Mesto, Slovenia to Vicktor Knavs and Amalija. She was raised up in a family with her sister, Ines Knauss and a half-brother from her father’s side.
Her father used to work as a car dealer whereas the mother worked as a children’s clothes designer at a manufacturer named ‘Jutranjka’ in Sevnica.
She grew up as a talented multi-linguist with good command over English, French, Italian, German, Slovene, and Serbo-Croatian. She also got enrolled at the University of Ljublijana to major in designing but dropped out of the course after a year.
She was interested to pursue her career in modeling and so started the work at the age of 16 with Stane Jerko, a fashion photographer from Slovenia.
She was noticed by the modeling agency of Milan and got the opportunity to sign the contract at the age of 18.
She worked for many brands as a model in Paris and Milan and even got the title of ‘Look of the Year’ as runner-up in a contest by Jana Magazine in 1992.
In 1996, she planned to move to New York on H-1B visa for continuing as a model. She received critical acclaim in the country with major projects from renowned photographers like Patrick Demarchelier and Helmut Newton under her name as Melania Knauss.
She made it to various cover pages of popular magazines like Vogue, Front, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar and GQ. Her work in modelling was appreciated by the country and she got the green card in 2001.
She was also seen as an actress in Donald Trump’s reality show, Celebrity Apprentice in 2004 and One Nation Under Trump in 2016. She also owns her brand line of jewelry, designer watches, and skincare products.
She got married to Donald Trump in 2005. Both met at a fashion party in New York City in 1998 and started seeing each other after making the exchange of numbers.
She helped out Trump in many campaigns like the Reform Party presidential nomination in 2000.
In 2004 they got engaged and married the next year on 22nd January 2005 at The Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-sea in Palm Beach, Florida.
She is the mother of a son, Barron William Trump, and step-mother of Donald Jr., Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany Trump.
It is estimated to be around $50 million.
