June Delane says: Dear Mr. Leno,
I have a 1967 Dodge Charger that I am looking to sell, hopefully to a collector who appreciates its value and rarity. This particular Charger was purchased by my father from its first and only other owner in 1969. It was the family car I grew up with, and, after my father was able to buy another car for the family, his favorite project. When he passed in 2013, I inherited the car, but lacking the funds and time to do it justice. I am sorrowfully selling this magnificent car. Automatic transmission, this particular vehicle boosts a 383 big block engine, a racing cam, a larger than normal oil pan, and other modifications designed for high speeds. The re-built original engine has 44k miles, and has a new master cylinder and brake booster, plus some other recent repairs. Tires are new, rims are original. It’s silver with dark blue interior, both original colors. Interior, excepting the driver and front passenger seat, is original, including back passenger seats and headliner. Car has only been in California, so no rust or weathering, paint is in good (but not great).

Debbie Gibson says: Dear Mr. Leno,
My name is Debbie and I am writing regarding my father-in-law who was diagnosed with cancer approximately 6 months ago. He is on hospice care. He has given his 1969 Chevelle SS396 Convertible 4 Speed (black) to his son Tom Gibson. My father-in-law is a retired Rail Road worker and lives in El Reno, Oklahoma. We reside in Yukon, Oklahoma right off of historical Rt 66. I just think that it would be a wonderful event for my father-in-law and my husband to have a simple picture of you in this car with him. Please contact me if this is something you can do. He is mobile as of right now but as I am sure you know his cancer will soon over take him so time is of the essence. Thank you for your time regarding this matter.

Sincerely,
Debbie S. Smith

Maurizio says: Dear Mr. Jay,
I have always admired your passion for cars and your knowledge about cars. Here is my story, my dad has a 72 Lamborghini Espada and I remember when I was between the ages of 6 and 12, all of our family drives all together and it was awesome to be able for my whole family to drive around with that car back then. I saw your show on the Lamborghini Espada that you restored yours and my dads has been parked and not even started for at least 20 years if not more. He was never able to find someone who was able to get it running again correctly and then just gave up. I was wondering if I could get some more information from you on how much it costs to restore yours and who you think would be capable and honest enough to help me. Surprise my dad in getting his car maybe back on the road again even if restoring it completely would not be affordable for us. My parent's 40th Anniversary is coming up very soon and it would be a dream come true if I could surprise them with such news, if I could afford it. I am so proud of them for these 40 years of marriage, it is truly rare to last this long in.

I am trying to raise money for a daily driver classic car for my retirement. I hope to get a '65-69 Chevy Corvair Corsa. I love the styling and it costs less to operate than a V-8 most classics have. I am hoping you can get the word out to all the car lovers you know, which seems to be everybody I ever heard of.

Jacob helms says: Hello Jay,
My name is Jacob Helms. I am an auto tech student at Fremont high school in Sunnyvale, California. I was wondering if you can help us out. We are building a nostalgia rail dragster powered by an old sbc 283 that I designed myself. I know you are not big on racing but I would appreciate if you can help us out. We have spent most of our class budget for the year on the engine alone and are running out of mony as we are starting the frame. Anything would help a donation of parts or money or even just your backing to get the attention of companies that can supply us with parts. We are currently sponsored by Gambino kustoms and because they are a small shop they can only supply us with a few used parts. If you can help please contact me and I can send you any information you need. Thanks.

John J Gurney says: Hello Mr. Leno,
In the 1941 Deanna Durbin movie titled "Nice Girl", there is a very streamlined car that incorporates a number of interesting features; a retractable hardtop, hideaway headlights, fairings attached to the front wheels so they move with the wheels, a possibly turbo charged engine based on a brief view of the engine bay, and dashboard instrumentation worthy of an airplane of that era. My guess is it is a one-off. Any information you can provide regarding identification and its design/history would be very much appreciated. My searches of the internet have yielded nothing.

Thank you,
John Gurney

John Bill says: Hello Jay,
I am such a big fan of new show. My wife left me after 17 years of marriage with a family friend that was helping me put tile in my bathroom. He just received a settlement of 895,000.00 because I had to go on full disability from a failed fusion surgery to my l4 and l5. She lied to the police so I was removed from the house so I could only take a small bag with me.
I slept in an Apple orchard and lived on them for a week, because she emptied all bank accounts. I have a 98 caddy with 155000 miles, I have no money to make her great. I would love to put a Hurst shifter in her with a l1 corvette engine with matching trans 26 inch rims and a new paint job with leather buckets and one he will of a sound system. If you have any friends that might want to put my car on there show I would forever be in your debt. I have a mint condition 2008 vstar classic it's my pride and joy. I will give it to you if you could put my name out there. I know how great of a man you are and I am nobody but I won't be here much longer. I had to tell you my story. May your life be blessed and your friends also have blessed lives.

Daina Spstiks says: Good evening,
My mother passed away 1 year and a half ago. She bought a Cadillac fleetwood brougham in 1993 or the last year they made them because she could. That year she picked up the car and there were roses on the seat before they drove it out of the lot. The sales lady looked at me and said how do you like it? I said I wish it was a Honda, that is my inheritance going out the door. My father who spent 58 years with her is getting transplanted close to where Jay sometimes fills up by topanga and 101. Edgars J is pre dementia and I will be living with me. I am transplanting him here to live with me. The car is in Des Moines never been in the snow fully loaded with leather. A little over 50,000 miles on it. Would you have any contacts that may want to own this. I just need to find a good home.

Martin Flanagan says: Hello Jay,
I really enjoy your show. I watched the Stutz Bearcat episode recently and you said the Stutz engine soft seized twice. I am rebuilding a 1913 Overland engine and want to avoid any seizing issues. I plan on using Arias pistons machined to the original long skirt design. What cylinder to piston clearance did you finally end up using? The bore in the Overland is 4 in with a 4 1/2 stroke. The engine also uses a Kinwood cylinder oiler that squirts through the cylinder wall onto the piston at bottom dead center. Appreciate any information you may have, and love your show. I would like to tour your shop sometime if possible. Can you send information on how I go about doing that? Your garage is number 1 on my bucket list.

Thanks,

My older brother has a 1994 mazda rx-7 with 40,000 original miles. He claims you wouldn't review it but I beg to differ. He has done upgraded brakes and a momo steering wheel and that is all, so it is very close to a bone stock rx-7. I would love to see you review his car on your channel as I beleive it would get many views and likes, and also dislikes because of the infamous rotary engine. So email me back because I don't think my brother would even try to contact you about reviewing his car on your show.

I have no idea how to get it appraised to sell it. I live in El Paso, Texas and none seems to know a credible appraiser in this area. I was told to check out Blue Book but I have not been able get anything as far back as 1965. Any suggestions?

Al Hutton says: Mr. Leno,

You are a true patriot in every sense of the word. I read the story about SPC Morris this morning. As a Desert Storm Combat Veteran, I know the years of struggle she will be facing, with the years that she has ahead of her. Your gift of a car that she will love and cherish will be something positive that will help her through the bad days. She will experience the rest of her life. It is important to understand that combat does change a person, publicly we try to act like we are normal. Privately we try every minute of every day to fit back into a civil society and be the person we were before combat. It is a struggle that never ends, invading our most private time of our sleep, sometimes waking us up screaming, which scares the heck out of our spouses. Your gift to this soldier may give her moments of peace and more importantly a smile once a day. I thank you from the depths of my heart for your patriotic act to help a fellow soldier.

Respectfully signed,
Al Hutton

I am selling an original, restored 1968 Camaro z/28 RS in white with a black vinyl roof that I think you would love. It has the born with, original engine, transmission and rear end. The car was certified by Jerry MacNeish and the drive train was restored by Jerry. It is looking for a forever home in your collection.
Thank you.

About a car

Posted on Nov 02, 2016 at 04:34 AM

Thomas Nardinelli says: I have a lead on a 1929 Ford roadster pickup that was a former Grand National Roadster Show Winner. I can forward images along with a video of what this truck looked like in its grand glory and what it looks like today. The car belonged to my cousin, Gary Alvernaz and I watched this car change colors and appearances several times. The car was compared to George Barris's "Ala Cart" in several books and in several major car magazines over the years. The incredible thing is the rich history behind this once magnificent car and where and what it is doing today. I would love to see Gary's car restored back to the amazing show car it once was. The custom builder of the truck was Joe Cruces that built several award winning show cars. Let me know and I will forward the information to you. This has been a California car until now and it should be here permanently. This would be an outstanding addition to your collection.

This is Marcel from (Worcester) Boston. We met long time ago at the comedy store. I am currently working at Aerojet Rocketdyne (previos) spacex, and we have same dentist Dr. Havis. Lisa as our family friend.
I have been back writing music and also I am a big time junk food junkie. So I decided to write a song about eating junk food. I finished recording the sugary greasing song on saturday and was wondering if you would like to be part of it in some way. Perhaps a guest appearance in the video? It is a 3 minute song. Dance nacho mix is 6 minute. I am in the remastering stage and is in 5 languages. I also dress as my character Nacho Man. Last recording session I spilled cheetos every where and my cokes. This song is a dance song family oriented and filming at points of interest in Los Angeles. It would be great if you would be in the video eating your favourite junk food. Best regards, Nacho Man, Marcel

I am restoring an old 1971 ford LTD (Nacho Mobile).

If I were you, I would consider a chrysler '81, '82, '83 imperial, the continental mark III of the 80's, why it didn't sell? I don't know why? Also consider chrysler, plymoths, dodge cars and trucks before the car and after it. I thought they were great. Also, consider getting a couple of continental mark III(3)'s, they are becoming scarce. So is the imperial above. Also, '75-78', 4 door or 2 door mercury gran marqis, all the cars above are asking big bucks. The gran marqis should have power antennas in the rear near the trunk, like the mark III. Do you have a MGB-GT hardtop, get one also. Hope to hear from you soon.

While looking through my wife's friends garage, I found a creeper. I think it might be from the 30s or 40s. Her father had passed and he was a mechanic who owned this creeper. She had given it to me but it only hangs on my shop wall. I believe that someone such as you should have this to maybe display it with an auto from that era. Its made of hard wood with small steel wheels attached and its concave 40 inches by 12 inches in excellent condition. Yours for free.

It would be nice if a show was dedicated to electronic aides in motorcycle and cars. After all, stability control was mandated in all cars of 2012 and newer. Motorcycles in Europe were mandated to have ABS starting in 2017. Some motorcycles have traction control with just recent addition of stability control in a couple top tier Ducati's and KTM's. There is much public confusion on this subject. It should not be just shut off as it lurks in the background and could save your life without you realizing it.

Hello,
My name is Amy and I have almost 11 years old boy who is obsessed with cars, more specifically with Jay's cars. Tristan is one of the most kind, caring, loving, helpful, smart, high energy boys I have ever known. He loves to help his friends, he advocates for his brother who has an auto immune disease, he protects his adorable sister from boys and mean girls, he does dishes, helps with homework and even goes to bed on time. Tristan started learning about cars after her lacerated his spleen and was in the intensive care for a week and since has become a lover of cars. His wish for his birthday is to meet Jay. He wants to use his own money to fly Jay up here for his birthday party or fly down there to meet Jay. If this is something we could work out it would be an amazing experience for him.
I am looking forward to speaking with you.

I watched your segment on your father's Galaxy. My buddy has the same car, from his dad, dropped a 428 cobra jet in it. Beautiful paint, engine compartment fully dressed, slicks and so on. I told him about Jays car. Thing is that the guy is not on the net and I can't show him the car. I am in Victoria, BC. He is in Edmonton, Alta. He is a truck driving relic of the 70s and a total laugh. You should do a segment on his/ your and god knows how many other galaxies out there. Randy used this car for our wedding, he did an insane burn out from the wedding reception, my father, my bride and I in the car. My dad shook so badly he was unable to take a photo of the car after. We got two blocks, Randy slid to a stop, popped the trunk and pulled a bottle of Dom from a tub of ice, 4 glasses and a genuine memory of a wonderful day. He was wearing hand painted cowboy boots and a fringed deerskin formal outfit.

Dear Mr. Leno,

This seems a bit unorthodox, but I see others are pimping their rides in the comments, so I figured out, why not? The car I have is a 1980 Renault Alpine A310 with the Fleischmann racing additions (sans weber six pack). It is basically the way it was modified by Fleischmann to be resold through Renault back in 1980 except it came from the factory in white. I have few videos of it online here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbMbYsDP1MU

It is running in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XquJOJter3A

One more walkaround:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJb--g3VoBA

The problem I have is that I feel this car is fairly rare, especially in the USA, and deserves to be brought back to life. It needs bodywork, paint, and interior, as they are toast. It runs okay, but could use a mechanical massage. I just don’t have the time or money that it would take to perform this transformation. I was just wondering if it would strike your interest. If so, please feel free to contact me anytime. It would truly be my honor.
Thank you,
Ed

Dear Mr. Leno,
Recently, a neighbour of mine hired me to do a landscape design for her backyard and patio. One of the things, I noticed is what looked like a covered motorcycle covered in dust and such. Before I could inquire about it she told that this motorcycle was her dad's pride and joy and kept it all this time until he recently passed at the age of 93. At this point, we had become pretty good friends and she offered the bike to me. I told her how about this, why don't you let me take it home and give it some tlc and elbow grease and go from there. If I decide not to keep it then let me find someone who will appreciate it for what it was and try and sell it and we will split the proceeds. She thought that was very nice of me. All she told me was that it was a 1968 Velocette. Actually, it was a 1968 Velocette Scrambler and I believe the last year they made this model. Its truly a diamond in the rough. Well after a few months of tlc and a lot of elbow grease it was truly a diamond in the rough. And although several times, I have thought about keeping it when I went online to investigation.

Mr Leno, I own the 1954 Chevy belair which Scotty Moore bought new in Nashville, Tennessee. Scotty was Elvis Presley's first guitar player in case you aren't familiar with him. It is the first car Elvis toured the country in.
I have checked the Tennessee license registration and VIN number and name that match my car. The car is in like new condition and I have photos of the car with Elvis standing beside it with Scotty and Elvis leaning on the back of it. Also the original title. I am contacting other collectors so if you are interested please contact me. My number is 336-337-3731.
Thank you very much. Glenn Redmond

Sorry to bother you on this site. You did a wonderful job of continuing the tonight show tradition. They never made it to The Jay Leno show. A great respect for tradition. Thanks for that. Can't watch your replacement without title change. Thanks, Mike V.

Hello Mr. Leno

I have a 2008 Shelby GT50KR, with a Shelby American racing installed after purchase that I am looking to sell. It has only 438 original miles. It boasts 711 horse at the rear tires, approximately 842 horse at the fly wheel. The racing package includes just about everything you could imagine, inside and out as well as under the hood and is autographed by Carroll Shelby. I'm wondering if this might be a vehicle you would be interested in for your collection.

Thank you for your consideration
