The company controls more than 28,200 stores across the world. The Kevin Johnson became the Chief Executive Officer of the organization in April 2017.

History
The first store of the company was opened in Seattle,
Washington on March 31, 1971, by Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegel and Gordon Bowker. The founder first met while they were students of the University of San Francisco. The company acquired Peet’s in 1984. In 1987, the market value of the company was US$271 million. The organization first store outside North America opened in 1996 at Tokyo, Japan. The company closed more than 150 locations in 2009. The coffee store starts selling coconut milk in 2015. The company also expand their stores in Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, and Portugal in 2008.
