24 Hour Fitness is an American fitness center chain having more than 400 locations across the United States. The company main competes with LA Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Aspen Fitness, and Gold’s Gym. Overall, there are 4 million members registered with the company in 13 US states. The main headquarters of the company is situated in San Ramon, California, United States. They have a total workforce of 18,000 employees controlling their call center and fitness centers. The fitness chain is jointly owned by the Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and AEA Investors. The motto of the company is “improving lives through fitness”. The company offers training in many different formats that include one on one, group, partner, and express. There is also a nutritional supplement company operated by this fitness chain.
24 Hour Fitness History
The company was started way back in 1983 with a single branch, named 24 Hour Nautilus by Leonard Schelmm and Mark Mastrov. They were one of the main sponsors of the US Olympic teams in 2004-2008. In addition, the company also sponsored The Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team from 2005 to 2008.
