UAE Exchange is a limited liability company that deals in foreign exchange, remittances and payment solutions. The company is active since 1980 and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates operating almost 800 offices in 31 countries.
How it got started?
The company got started in 1980 by its founders B.R Shetty and Abdulla Humaid Al Mazroei. The company worked on expanding its area in Middle East and Asia with joining as a SWIFT member in 1993 having operations started in Oman and Kuwait. In 1999, it came to India with retail services establishing branches over 330 by 2015. In 2009, it joined hands with UK financial regulator Financial Services Authority as an Authorized Payment Institution. Recently news came out of its rebranding to Unimoni in 2018 starting its initial operation in Fiji, Canada, India and Australia. The company also partnered with OOREDOO, an international telecommunication company in October 2018.
