About T Bavuma
T Bavuma or Temba Bavuma is 29 years old South African right-handed batsman and right-arm medium bowler.
He plays for domestic club Lions and has made his international debut in a Test match against West Indies in December 2014. He is well known for being the first black cricketer of South Africa to score a century in a Test match.
Early Life
T Bavuma was born on 17th May 1990 in Langa, Cape Town, Cape Province, South Africa as Temba Bavuma to Vuyo Bavuma. He came in cricket from the same street where Thami Tsolekile and Malusi Siboto were raised.
He attended St. David’s Marist College in northern Johannesburg where he started playing cricket with a commitment to Soweto Cricket Club under the guidance of Geoffrey Toyana from a young age. He also attended South African College Junior School. Soon by following his mentor's footsteps he managed to get his first-class debut at age 18 for Gauteng.
Career
At age 18, he made his first-class debut for Gauteng in 2008 and later just after three seasons, he joined hands with Lions. He gave his consistent performances thus getting placed as vice-captain of the team in 2013-14.
He made his image among the top run-getters list finally making his way to become a useful Test player for South Africa. His national team debut came in the year 2014 when he was chosen for the West Indies Test series but he didn’t make the best of starts scoring 10 and 15 in his debut Test.
He, however, caught the attention of skipper Amla by making a half-century in 2015 against Bangladesh. Next season came up with a blast of success in a home series against England in late 2015 and early 2016 where he scored his Test century as a first black cricketer but the coming seasons made him face miserable career innings as he scored a couple of half-centuries against Australia and Sri Lanka without converting it into anything substantial.
The year 2016 was also known for his ODI maiden century against Ireland. In 2017, he joined Cape Cobras followed by showing his presence in the 2018 Africa T20 Cup for Gauteng’s squad and in the 2018 Mzansi Super League T20 tournament for Durban Heat’s squad.
Achievements
He has received the Award of Excellence in the year 2017 given away by Cricket South Africa in annual awards.

He is in marital relationship with Phila Lobi since 2018.
