Early life
Dwayne Michael Carter Jr. was born on September 27, 1982 in New Orleans, Louisiana, U.S to his parents, who got divorced early during his childhood. He grew up in Holly grove in poor living conditions. He is considered to very much attach to his step dad, whose name is ‘Rabbit’, he was shot dead; Wayne tattooed his name on his body. Because of his hatred towards his biological father, he dropped the letter ‘D’ from his name and just kept it ‘Wayne’ instead of ‘Dwayne’. Wayne went to ‘Eleanor McMain Secondary School’ and ‘Marion Abramson Senor High School’ but soon dropped out to start his career in music. Wayne started writing rap songs at an early age of eight; he also met singer rapper Bryan Williams known by his stage name Birdman and Baby. He became Wayne’s mentor and the two started sharing father son relation. He joined the American teenage hip-hop duo ‘The B.G.'z’ and along with rapper Lil' Doogie came up with the group’s debut album ‘True Story’ on July 29, 1995, by ‘Cash Money Records’, which also marked his debut collaboration album.

Lil Wayne started his professional work in year 1996, he became part of hip hop group ‘Hot Boys’ in 1996. Lil Wayne for noticed in year 1999, when the album named ‘Guerilla Warfare’ was released by the group, it went on top on various chartbusters. Wayne released his solo album ‘The black is hot’ in November 1999. His next two albums ‘Lights Out’ (2000) and ‘500 Degreez’ (2002) although earned gold certification from RIAA failed to catch up with the success of ‘Tha Block Is Hot’. Lil Wayne’s fourth album was released in June 2004, debuted at no.5 position on billboard 200. His fifth studio album Carter II on December 6, 2005, it stayed on number 2 position on billboard 200. The Carter III album helped Lil Dwayne won Grammy award for ‘Best Rap album’. Other notable albums of Wayne include ‘Rebirth’ (2010), ‘Tha Carter IV’ (2011), and ‘Free Weezy Album’ (2015) among others.
