Larry Page is 45 years old American Internet entrepreneur and computer scientist who is well known for being the co-founder of Google with his grad school buddy, Sergey Brin in 1998. He at present is serving as the CEO of Alphabet Inc.
Larry Page was born on 26th March 1973 in East Lansing, Michigan to Carl Victor Page, Sr. and Gloria.
His father was working as a professor of computer science at Michigan State University whereas his mother was employed as an instructor in computer programming at Lyman Briggs College and at Michigan State University.
Being raised in the environment of parents as computer experts its no doubt that he was destined to go for the same.
He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in engineering at the University of Michigan and later went for computer engineering at Stanford University meeting his future co-buddy Sergey Brin.
During the time of his study at Stanford University, he met with Sergey Brin with whom he created a search engine under a research project and named it Google.
They worked on collecting the immense amount of information available on the web and put it on a single page. They officially launched the project in 1998 after raising the investment of around $1 million from family and friends.
The website turned out to be most popular in the world by receiving an average of 5.9 billion searches per day in 2013.
The company held its initial public offering in August 2004 and is offering a wide range of internet products and services.
It is now an online firm that has gradually expanded its operations to other internet related areas. Both co-founders served as co-presidents of the company until 2001 when Eric Schmidt was appointed as CEO of Google.
In 2011, Page was appointed as CEO of Google while Schmidt remained as executive chairman. He is also a member of the board of directors of the company.
In 2015, he became the CEO of Alphabet, Google’s parent company and recently got ranked as the 9th richest person in the world in October 2018.
He got married to Lucinda Southworth in 2007. The two together are parents of two beautiful children born in 2009 and 2011.
He with Sergey Brin received the Marconi Prize in 2004.
It is estimated to be around US $53.4 billion.
