Kingsborough Community College
Kingsborough Community College is an American financial institution that was established in 1963.
This community college work under the City University of New York and is Brooklyn’s only community college. There are more than 19,000 students enrolled in this college.
It is situated in Manhattan Beach on a 71-acre campus overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Jamaica Bay, and Sheepshead Bay.
Also, some part of this institution is situated on the site of Coast Guard, the Manhattan Beach Air Force Station, and Sheepshead Bay Maritime Training Center for Merchant Marines.
As per June 2018 records, Peter Cohen is the President of this community college.
The most interesting thing about this college is its only college in New York City having a private beach where one can swim during the winter.
Kingsborough Community College Achievements
In 2013, The Aspen Institute College Excellence Program named them one of the top four community colleges in the United States.
The same organization ranked them in the list of top 120 community colleges in the country in 2011.
Also, this college received the English Award of Diana Hacker TYCA Outstanding Program from the National Two-Year College English Association in 2009.
There is a long list of awards that this college has received including the Brooklyn Buildings Award and Center for Digital Education Award.
