About CJ Jordan
CJ Jordan or Christopher James Jordan is 30 years old English right-handed and right-arm fast-medium bowler. At present he is playing for domestic club Sussex and is part of the 2019 England’s Cricket World Cup Squad.
CJ Jordan was born on 4th October, 1988 in Christ Church, Barbados as Christopher James Jordan to Robert and Rosita Jordan. He also has a sister named Keisha Boyce. He received his education from Combermere School in Bridgetown, Barbados followed by his education at Dulwich College in England where he went on sporting scholarship. He holds both the Barbadian and English nationality. This right-arm quick bowler was spotted in his native by Bill Athey, who was at that time scouting for a recipient of a cricket scholarship back in England at Dulwich College.
Jordan started his career with domestic club Surrey but didn’t make up to the expectations as a bowler. He was later called upon at first team nets after being noticed by Nadeem Shahid, Surrey’s Second XI coach. He helped the team with promising start getting
20 wickets at 24.50 but he missed out the whole season later because of injuries. He made a come back in 2011 taking 11 wickets at 48.00 in the championship but still got released at the end of the season from club in 2012. He even tried to play for Barbados but was excelled from the team. In 2013, he decided to try his luck with Sussex and that brought out his true potential in the game. England kept eyes on his playing skills making him grab the opportunity to get selected for two England Lions fixtures in 2013 and making him play against West Indies and further making his ODI debut against Australia at the Ageas Bowl whereas in the domestic career he took 6 for 48 on Sussex debut against Yorkshire for his first-class match turning out to be the leading wicket-keeper in the County Championship.
The magic of his bowling made an impressive impression in the third T20I against West Indies by picking three wickets in the match with four sixes that gave England a strong and competitive total on the board. His first test match was against Sri Lanka followed by other test series against India. He also got the IPL contract with Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2016 plus has played for various league teams like Peshawar Zalmi, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Adelaide Strikers, Chittagong Vikings, Northern Districts and Sydney Thunder. Recently he played in T20I for WI 2019 followed by his selection in England’s 2019 Cricket World Cup Squad.
He is unmarried.
