CJ Dala was born on 29th December 1989 in Lusaka, Zambia as Carl Junior Dala. He started his early career playing for domestic teams of South Africa named as The Unlimited Titans in 2011. For education, he attended Springs Boys’ High School.
Career
He started his career playing for the domestic club The Unlimited Titans under the guidance of Mark Boucher. He was soon got fast-tracked for the T20I series against India by South Africa’s team. He got Rohit Sharma dismissed in all the three games with Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s wicket. His performance of taking 7 wickets in 3-match T20I series gave him a decent average of 15. His ODI debut also came up in same year against Sri Lanka.
Talking about his domestic career he went for Easterns cricket team squad playing
in Africa T20 Cup in 2015 followed by his appearance in T20 Global League as a teammate of Durban Qalanders’ in August 2017 but this tournament was canceled soon after. He also went for IPL matches in Delhi Daredevil as replacement of Chris Moris who got injured during the 2018 season. He is also part of Nelson Mandela Bay Giants’ since October 2018 when he was chosen for the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament. He even played for Momentum One-Day Cup in 2018-19 in semi-finals with the team and scoring his career-best figures of 6/19 against Cape Cobras thus making it to finals. He scored 16 scalps at an average of 18.68 and an excellent economy rate of just 5.29. He has recently played a T20I match against Sri Lanka on 24th March 2019.
