According to the latest reports, the company has more than 210 million active accounts in 202 markets around the globe. The customers are allowed to send, receive, and hold money in more than 20 global currencies through PayPal.
PayPal HistoryThe company was started by Peter Thiel, Luke Nosek, Ken Howery, and Max Levchin in December 1998 as Confinity whereas it merges with X.com in March 2000. However, they changed their name to PayPal in 2001. It was acquired by eBay in July 2002. On 18 July 2015, eBay spins off it into a separate entity.
