GMC Overview
GMC is an American automobile manufacturing company who mainly target trucks and utility vehicles. The full form of company’s name is General Motors Truck Company and they are based in Detroit, Michigan, United States. They operate as the wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors. The company was started on 22nd July 1908 by William C. Durant as Reliance Motor Car Company, but it was purchased by GM in 1911.
GMC Operations
As mentioned above, the company is mainly involved in the manufacturing operations of trucks & utility vehicles. They sell buses, military vehicles, sport utility vehicles. Commercial trucks, pickup, and vans. All these products are marketed by their parent company all over the world. They are known to manufacture some of the best truck models that include C and K Series, Caballero, Sonoma, Canyon, Sierra, W-Series, C-Series, TopKick, L Series, Forward, General, and Brigadier. In addition to that, GMC also manufactured some of the best buses models, such as RTS, S-series, B-series, and P-series.
General Motors
General Motors own lots of other subsidiaries along with the GMC, such as Chevrolet, Wuling, Buick, Cadillac, and Holden. They trade publicly on the New York Stock Exchange and is a component of S&P. Overall, the company operates more than 400 manufacturing facilities in various countries across Asia, North America, South America, Africa, and Oceania. The company has given employment to around 181,000 people globally.
