It originated as a joint-stock of local partners and International Aeradio Limited, a British company with 60% shares under the UAE government. With time the UAE government provided both regulatory and control powers to the company thus developing
the telecommunication sector and raising it to be the 6th largest company in the Middle East.
It also got ranked by Brand Finance as the Most Valuable Portfolio Brand in the Middle East and North Africa breaking out the record of $10 billion barriers of portfolio value.
