In the United Kingdom, it is the most viewed attractions. In 2007, the amusement park was visited by more than 5.5million visitors making it the top twenty visited park in the United Kingdom.
Travelers Choice Awards declares Blackpool Pleasure Beach as the best theme park in the United Kingdom.
The park has the biggest number of roller coasters. It was First Park to introduce fully inverting steel coasters which named as Revolution.
The cost of the park is £16.25 million making it the largest most single investment park.
History
In 1896, the park was founded by Alderman William George Bean. The founder opened two parks one in Great Yarmouth and second in Blackpool.
The Great Yarmouth Park did not perform well. After the failure of Yarmouth, George moved to Blackpool.
In 1903, he purchased 30 acres of land for expanding their park. The first
major attraction of the park was Sir Hiram Maxim's Captive Flying Machine which was designed by a British inventor.
Alderman purchased its second amusement park in Morecambe named as West End Amusement Park which was later known as Frontierland, Morecambe.
After the success of Second Park, he opened Third Park in Southport which named Pleasureland Southport. In 1931, the park was purchased by Thompsons. The managing director of the park is Nick Thompson.
Awards
In 2018, theme park won Valhalla: Best Water Ride in the World – Golden Ticket Awards whereas in 2016, Amusement Park won 2nd best seaside park in the world.
The Black Pleasure Beach included in the list of Top Ten Best Theme Parks awards.
