As per 2017 records, the revenue of the company was US$ 15 billion, whereas their profit in the same year was US$ 5.6 billion. There are more than 25,000 people employed by the company for controlling their operations globally. The company is owned jointly by the Bharti Enterprises and SingTel who have 64% & 36% respectively. The main products of the company are fixed line telephony, digital television, internet television, IPTV, mobile telephone, broadband, IPTV, and satellite television.
In order to expand themselves in the international market, the company has acquired many companies over the years. It includes MTN Group, ZTN, Telecom Seychelles, Wireless Business Services Private Limited, Telenor India, Tikona 4G spectrum, and Tigo Rwanda.
Airtel International Operations
In terms of subscriber’s numbers, they are one of the world’s biggest mobile operator. This telecom company is present in 19 countries that include the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ghana, India, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, and Republic of the Congo, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, and Sri Lanka. Airtel has divided their operations into various divisions, such as Airtel India, Airtel Africa, and Airtel Sri Lanka. Additionally, they operate in the British Crown Dependency Islands of Guernsey and Jersey in a partnership with Vodafone.
The company operates GSM network in all their operational areas along with 2G or 3G service as per the country.
