Vladimir Putin Bio
Vladimir Putin is a Russian political personality who is presently holding the position of President of Russia since 2012.
He is also the former intelligence officer in Russian administration and has also served as the prime minister of Russia.
Early life
Vladimir was born on 7th October 1952 in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, the Soviet Union as Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin to Maria Ivanovna Putina and Vladimir Spiridonovich Putin.
He was raised as the youngest son of the family with a mother working as a factory worker and father as a conscript in the Soviet navy. Both his older brothers died in childhood.
He completed his early education from School No. 193 and then attended the Saint Petersburg High School 281 where he learned the German language.
He was also professionally trained in sambo and judo at the age of 12. He then studied law at the Leningrad State University joining CPSU.
Career
After graduating in 1975 he was sent to State Security Committee and was promoted to the second lieutenant of justice after completing his training in the system of territorial bodies of the USSR KGB.
He then served in the counterintelligence department of the investigative department of the KGB in 1977 and then went at the Major of Justice post to study foreign intelligence at the institute of the KGB in 1984.
He was trained to further serve in the GDR from 1985 to 1990 where he got promoted to lieutenant colonel and also got appointed as senior assistant to the department chief.
He then joined the job at the Leningrad State University of Zhdanov being the assistant to the rector for international affairs.
In the 1990s, he resigned from KGB service and positioned as chairman of the Committee for External Relations of the St. Petersburg administration.
His political career took a start when he was made the first deputy prime minister of St. Petersburg in 1994 rising to the position of Secretary of the Security Council.
In 1996, he was appointed as the deputy manager of the President of the Russian Federation in Moscow and also headed the FSB of Russia in 1998. In 1999, he was appointed as Russia’s prime minister by President Boris Yeltsin.
In March 2000, he was elected as a president and again got re-elected in 2004. His work during this tenure helped the Russian economy to grow with GDP increasing by 72% in purchasing power.
In 2008, he was appointed to the post of Prime Minister of Russia announcing the new cabinet. In the 2012 presidential election, he again won and took up the post for the third time to be the head of state.
Personal Life
He got married to Lyudmila in 1983 and both have two beautiful daughters; Maria and Catherine. The two got separated in 2013.
