Early life
Russell Westbrook was born on November 12, 1988 in Long Beach, California to his parents. His father Russell Westbrook Jr. was also a playground star and a former Basketball player and his mother Shannon Horton was a homemaker. Westbrook was raised in Hawthorne along with his younger brother Reynard. Both the brothers are trained by their father. Russell Westbrook attended Leuzinger High School in Lawndale, California, he played well in high school, he has 5’8 frame and weighed 65 kg that time, his interest grown deeper in basketball, when his teammate and close ally, Khelcey Barrs III died. He wore zero number jersey throughout his UCLA Career. Due to his unique and explosive style of playing he got noticed and selected as number four in NBA draft in 2008 at the young age of 20.

Russell Westbrook started his professional career soon after college; he was selected fourth overall NBA draft in 2008 for “Seattle Super Sonics”, which was later named “Oklahoma City Thunder’. He rose to fame in 2009, when he scored his triple double; he ended up becoming NBA All Rookie first team, he was placed at number fourth in team. During the second team, his team got eliminated in first round by Los Angeles Lakers, but he got notices for his tremendous performance of personal score of 16.1 points. In 2011, he was selected in 2012 NBA all-star game, he managed his team to reach the finals. In 2012 he scored well and finished season with 23.2 points, which indeed is an excellent score. In 2013-14 seasons, Westbrook suffered from injury of knee, he returned in tournament, against New York Knicks, his team won the match, Westbrook scored 14 points. Russell Westbrook undergone arthroscopic surgery and made a comeback in 2014. In 2015 broke his career high record of 45 points and scored 48 points against New Orleans Pelicans. He was named All-star MVP. In 2017 he became the first ever player in NBA history to achieve the 50 point triple double score.
Apart from NBA, Russell Westbrook was also the part of American Basketball team for FIBA championship 2010, but he didn’t performed well and met expectations, which he was capable of. He was not part 2016 Olympics.
