Leonid Mikhelson’s career got kick start and ranged high values from his gas company ‘Novtek’. Primarily he started working at gas pipeline ‘Urengoi-Chelyabinsk’. In 1987, Mikhelson was appointed as the general Director of ‘Kuibishevtruboprovodstroy’ Company. After the privatization of Kuibishevtruboprovodstroy, it was renamed as NOVA, Mikhelson then served as the Managing Director of the Company.
