John B. Lacson Intro
John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime is a Philippian maritime institution that located in Iloilo City, Iloilo. It was the first university to get the accreditation from the Det Norske Veritas. The motto of this institute is “We are Second to None”. This private university established in the year 1948 and now has an administrative staff of more than 1,000 individuals. As of July 2018 records, the Chairman of this institute is Dr. Mary Lou L. Arcelo, whereas their Chief Executive Officer is Dr. Ronald Raymond L. Sebastian.
One interesting fact about this institute is that they are the first maritime institute to get Accreditation Level IV re-accredited status from the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission. This institute was formerly known with the names like John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation and Iloilo Maritime Academy. Presently, the mascot of this institute is The Dolphin. There is a variety of study programs available in this maritime institution.

Some major courses available at this maritime institution include Maritime Junior High Studies, Maritime Senior High Studies, Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering, Bachelor of Customs Administration, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

• Maritime High School- This maritime school located in JBLFMU-Molo where people studied the basic seamanship subjects.
• Senior School- Since 2017, the people here studied senior subjects.
• Graduate School- In this center, the students studied the master programs through distance education. There are also some extension class centers of John B. Lacson situated in Mandaluyong City, Davao City, and Bacolod City.
