JNU Overview
Jawaharlal Nehru University popularly known as JNU is an Indian public university that situated in New Delhi, India. It is affiliated by the University Grants Commission, National Assessment and Accreditation Council, and Association of Indian Universities. This university was founded in the year 1969 after the first Prime Minister of India Jawaharlal Nehru. Later on, the Indian School of International Studies also merges with this university after one year. As of July 2018, the Chancellor of the university is VK Saraswat, whereas their Vice-Chancellor is Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar.
Some notable alumni of this university are Amitabh Rajan, Gaiti Hasan, Abhijit Banerjee, Alok Bhattacharya, MuzaffarAlam, Nirmala Sitaraman, Ali Zeidan, and Mahendra P. Lama. In 2018, this university ranked in the sixth position by the National Institutional Ranking Framework.
