Andrew Cuomo is an American politician. He is presently serving as the 56th governor of New York from 2011. Apart from being a politician, he is also a lawyer and author. He has also worked as assistant attorney in New York.
Andrew Mark Cuomo was born in Queens’s borough of New York City, on December 6, 1957. He is the first born child of late governor of New York, Mario Cuomo and his wife Matilda. He is of Italian ancestry and has one younger sibling named Chris. Talking about Andrew’s qualification, he has attended ‘St. Gerard Majella’s School,’ from where he graduated in 1971. In 1975, he graduated from ‘Archbishop Molloy High School.’ Soon, he joined ‘Fordham University.’ He graduated with a BA degree from ‘the university in 1979. He then went to ‘Albany Law School’ of ‘Union University,’ New York, to receive a JD.
Talking about his political career, Andrew Cuomo held several government positions including, Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development during the Clinton Administration (May 28, 1993 –
January 29, 1996); served as the 11th U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (January 29, 1997 – January 20, 2001); became the 64th Attorney General of New York (January 1, 2007- December 31, 2010); and won 2010 gubernatorial governorship election to become the 56th Governor of New York.
Andrew Cuomo was married to Kerry Kennedy; they tied the wedding knot on June 9, 1990. The couple has three daughters, namely, Cara Ethel Kennedy-Cuomo, Mariah Matilda Kennedy-Cuomo, and Michaela Andrea Kennedy-Cuomo. Twins Cara and Mariah were born on January 11, 1995. Michaela was born on August 26, 1997. They parted ways in 2003 and got legally divorced in year 2005.
Being an author, Andrew released autobiography, ‘All Things Possible: Setbacks and Success in Politics and Life,’ in 2014.
