PortAventura Park Overview
PortAventura Park is an entertainment park located in PortAventura World, Catalonia, Spain. The theme park opened on 1 May 1995. The slogan of the company is “a world of unique experience”. The owner of the theme park is Invest Industrial and KKR. In 2018, the general manager of the theme park is Sergio Feder. The previous name of the theme park was Universal Studios Port Aventura. The theme park situated in the area of 128.5 acres. As of 2017 records, the theme park visited by the more than 4,715,000. The theme park also has 21 restaurants for visitors. In 2017, theme park won Best Amusement Park in Europe 2017 for the PortAventura World.
In 1992, the Busch Entertainment declared for building a theme park in joint venture with Grand Tibidabo. In 1995, the park visited by more than 2.7 million visitors making it biggest theme park in Spain. In 1998, the theme park shares sold to Universal and park renamed as Universal’s Port Aventura. Theme park won Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement for Templo Del Fuego in 2003.
PortAventura Park Areas and Attractions
PortAventura Park shows areas which based on five civilization named as the Mediterranean, Far West, Mexico, China and Polynesia. In 2011, theme park introduced a new Sesame Street theme. The main attractions of the Mediterranean area are Furius Baco, Port la Drassna and Estacio del Nord. The Furius Baco opened in 2007. Mediterranean area also organizes several shows named as Sesamo Parade, Welcome, FiestAventura and Sesamo Parade Special Light. In China area is the largest theme land of PortAventura. China Area also has several other attractions named as Dragon Khan, Shambhala, Angkor, Imperial Cobra, Tea Cups and Driving School.
