Chester Zoo Overview
Chester Zoo is a popular British zoo that situated in the city of Upton by Chester, United Kingdom. The total land of this location is around 400 acres that make it one of the biggest zoos in the country. It is controlled by the North of England Zoological Society, which was established way back in 1934. This zoo is home to more than 500 different species from various parts of the world. According to the Forbes magazine, it is one of the world’s best fifteen zoos. That’s not all, it was named third’s best zoo in the world by TripAdvisor in 2017, whereas they named as the UK’s best zoo in the same year. It was constructed by the George Mottershead and opened for general public in 1931. As of 2017 records, this zoo was visited by more than 1.8 million people from various nationalities.
This zoo has featured in plenty of televisions shows like Mastermind, Our Zoo, The Secret Life of the Zoo, and many more. The major exhibits of this zoo include Tsavo Black Rhino Experience, Spirit of the Jaguar, Elephants of the Asian Forest, Mkomazi National Park Painted Dogs Conserve, Islands, and Realm of the Red Ape.
Chester Zoo Species and Animals
There is a great & diverse collection available in the Chester Zoo. A great number of these species featured on the IUCN Red List that created in 2007. There are more than 300 species of invertebrates in this zoo. In addition to that, this zoo is home to 100 species of fish and 155 species of birds. On top of that, the Chester Zoo has lots of species of reptiles, mammals, and amphibians. There are many different types of tickets available for the guests by the authority.
