CheapTickets History
The company was started by Michael J. Hartley and Sandra Hartley in 1986 when advertising tickets through classified ads. The first call center of the organization was opened in 1987. After that, they expanded to other cities by opening call centers in the cities of Colorado Springs, Los Angeles, Tampa, and Lakeport. It was acquired by Cendant in 2000 who sold it Orbitz Worldwide in 2006. However, Expedia acquired Orbitz along with the CheapTickets.
