The company operates as the wholly owned subsidiary of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation. The corporate headquarters of the company is situated in Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The regulator of the company is Arizona Corporation Commission.
APS History
The company was established in 1884 as Phoenix Light and Fuel Company, whereas they changed their name to Pacific Gas and Electric in 1906. They modify their name again in 1920 to Central Arizona Light and Power. They merged with Northern Arizona Power and Light in 1949 and with Arizona Edison in 1952. The same year, the company changes their present name to Arizona Public Service. They have started trading on the New York Stock Exchange since 1976.
