Recently, the news came up of ADL being acquired by a Canadian bus manufacturer in May 2019.
Where it got started?
The company came into existence in the year 2004 and is headquartered in Larbert, Scotland, United Kingdom. The company is now working under the ownership of NFI Group, a Canadian bus manufacturer since May 2019. Aside from its business in Canada, it is also working in China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, New
Zealand, South Africa, the United States, and Europe.
At first, it was called by the name of Mayflower which bought out Walter Alexander in 1995 and Dennis Group in 1998 further joining Henlys Group as one corporate unit under a single name of TransBus International. However, unfortunately, the venture collapsed in 2004 and it was taken over by Plaxton Holdings.
The Plaxton Holdings was further taken over by Alexander Dennis in 2007 thus manufacturing a range of products both bus and coach chassis and bodies with fire engines included. Now the company is under NFI Group by making a deal of £320 million.
