North Face History
The company was started by Douglas Tompkins and Susie Tompkins in San Francisco in 1966. However, it was acquired by Kenneth Hap Khoop in 1968. It was named after the coldest and iciest route of climb in the northern hemisphere. The company gained greater popularity after the 2000s when people start to recognize their name.
