Victor Vekselberg is a Russian businessman. He was born in Ukrainian. Victor Vekselberg is the owner of Renova Group, a large and huge Russian conglomerate. He chairs the Russia’s most progressive investment and business development company Renova. According to Forbes, he is one of the richest people in Russia.
Early life
Victor Vekselberg was born on April 14th, 1957 in Drohobych, Ukrainian SSR, which is western Ukraine. Talking about his parents, his mother was a Russian and his father was a mix of Ukrainian and Jewish ancestry. Victor completed his education from Moscow Transportation Engineering Institute in year 1979. Later after completing his education, he worked as an engineer.
Career
Victor Vekselberg founded Renova Group together with a friend in year 1990 Leonard Blavatnik. In 1996, he co-founded the Siberian-Urals Aluminium Company (SUAL) via a merger of the Ural and Irkutsk Aluminum Plants.
(SUAL later incorporated into United Company RUSAL, the largest aluminum company in the world). Using revenues generated from
his aluminum business, he purchased a minority interest in Tyumen Oil (TNK), one of Russia's largest oil and gas companies. In 1997, he secured a controlling interest in Tyumen and was appointed to the Board of Directors; in 1998, he was appointed Chairman of the Board. Later, he integrated those and other assets under the umbrella of Renova Group, delegating responsibilities to managers.
Personal Life
Victor Vekselbergis married; he is married to a woman named Marina. They have two children, a daughter and a son named Irenea and Aleksander.
He is not much of a believer, and doesn’t attend church and any spiritual affair.
A famous and notable charitable man, has made quite amount of donations vide his firm Renova. He has donated for construction of museums and for many foundations.
Victor Vekselberg is also an avid art lover and admirer.
