Early life
Tadashi Yanai was born on February 7, 1949 in Ube, Yamaguchi, Japan to parents Kanichi Yanai and Hisako Mori Yanai. He is right now 70 years old. He has completed his high school education from ‘Ube High School’ and later he attended ‘Waseda University’ and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics and Political Science in year 1971. After completing his education, he joined his father’s business which was tailoring.
Career
After finishing his education, Tadashi Yanai has joined his father’s tailoring business, but soon left it and begun selling men’s cothing and kitchenware at the Jusco super market. Later he started, with his own business and opened his first ‘Uniqlo’ shop in year 1984 in Hiroshima. The shop has opened gates for public offer in 1994, owing to its great wide popularity.
Tadashi Yanai’s business has grown very much in over the years. He has almost opened 2000 stores on its name, and been the fastest growing retail chain. It has also become the fourth largest apparel company in the country.
In year 2012, Tadashi Yanai’s name was included in the 50 most influential people list of Bloomberg Market Magazine.

Talking about the business man’s love life and marital status, Tadashi Yanai is married; his spouse name is Teruyo Yanai. The couple has together two children, which they named as Kazumi Yanai and Koji Yanai.
