Shubman Gill is a very young Indian Professional cricketer. He has recently debuted for Indian national cricket team in One day Internationals. He is right handed top order batsman. In domestic cricket, he plays for Punjab team and has debuted recently in 2017. He is also playing in Indian Premier League for Kolkata Night Riders from 2018.
Early life
Being just 19 year old, Gill was born on September 8, 1999 in Fazilka, Punjab, India to parents Lakhwinder Singh and Kirat Gill. He also has one elder sister Shahneel Kaur Gill. He is a Sikh by religion. His father is an agriculturist. Talking about Gill’s school level education, he has done is schooling from ‘Manav Mangal Smart School’ Mohali, Punjab. Shubman Gill’s instinct to follow cricket came from his father, his father himself wanted to be cricketer but due to circumstances couldn’t live his dream. He observed the potential in his son and enrolled him to PC stadium in Mohali.
Professional Career
Shubman Gill started playing cricket from very young age; he represented Punjab team in
domestic cricket. His tremendous performances secured his place in Under-19 world cup as vice-captain. He made his Ranji Trophy debut in 2017. He scored well in his debut match and scored a century in next match. He was considered a top player for the national U-19 team, and he scored over 351 runs in four innings and was named the Man of the Series during the Youth ODI series against England. He has recently made his International debut for Indian cricket team on January 31, 2019 against New Zealand. In Indian Premier League, he was bought by Kolkata Night riders for INR 2 crores. He played well in the league.
