About Shikhar Dhawan
Shikhar Dhawan is an Indian international cricketer. He is a left handed batsman and right arm off break bowler. In October 2010, He made his ODI debut against Australia in Visakhapatnam. In June 2011, He made his T-20 International debut against West Indies tour at Queen’s Park Oval.
Early life
Shikhar Dhawan was born in Delhi, India on December 5, 1985 to his parents Mahendra Pal Dhawan and Sunaina. He also has one younger sibling, a sister named Shreshta. Talking about his schooling and formal education, Dhawan has attended St. Marks Senior Secondary Public School in Delhi. However he didn’t attended college or further studies because of his cricket passion and going long into it.
Career
Shikhar Dhawan started his career in cricket by playing domestically for Deli under 16 team in years 1999 to 2000. He was subsequently selected to play for North Zone Under-16s squad and at the age of 15, secured a place in the Delhi Under-19 team. He continued to play domestically till 2010, as the national team didn’t have much space. Dhawan was
selected into the national senior team for the first time in October 2010 for a three-match ODI series against Australia. He later became of 2013 ICC champions Trophy and 2015’s World Cup also, because of his good form. He had an injury kept him out for a long time; he made a successful comeback for the 2017 Champions Trophy riding on his domestic performance and again bagged the Golden Bat for scoring most runs. He made two centuries against Sri Lanka in the Test series in September 2017. Shikhar Dhawan also debuted in IPL with Delhi Daredevils and later on switched to Mumbai Indians, then Deccan Chargers and then Sunrisers Hyderabad and for 2019’s IPL edition he was traded to Delhi Capitals.
Personal Life
Shikhar Dhawan is a married man; he has tied the wedding knot with his wife Ayesha Mukherjee, who was also an amateur boxer by profession on October 30, 2012. The married couple welcomed a son named Zoravar in early 2014.
