Early Life
SW Billings was born on 15th June, 1991 in Pembury, Kent as Samuel William Billings. He was raised in his hometown having a family dairy farm. For education he attended Haileybury College and Loughborough University earning his degree in sport and exercise science. He is considered to be an all-rounder player having a good sports background with grandfather Ron Billings being a former racquets player and his cousin Tom Billings be a ranked racquets player. He follows Christianity and among personal interests love to play football, rugby, squash, racquets and tennis. At young age he also used to play tennis for Kent.
Career
He started his cricket career in 2011 playing for Loughborough MCCU against
Northamptonshire. Soon he got his place to shine by topping the charts in 40-over cricket and T20s across England in 2012. In 2014, he was considered as the top run-scorer in the Royal London One-Day Cup making him the one among others to be selected for national level. This was also the time when he scored six List A cricket centuries and shared the Walter Lawrence Trophy for the quickest century in the season. He has a hold on shorter forms and this quality of him with finishing techniques make a call on him for being a player for all conditions. He played for many other domestic teams including Kent, Islamabad United, Delhi Daredevils, Sydney Sixers and Chennai Super Kings. In 2016, he came up with another achievement of highest List A score of 175 for England Lions against Sri Lanka A and the highest Twenty20 score of 95 not out in July 2018 for Kent against Hampshire. Recently in April 2019, he has made his first class three and six List A centuries.
