Rohit Sharma is an Indian cricketer. Presently he is also serving as the vice-captain of Indian cricket team in one day internationals and t20 cricket format. The right-handed batsman is better known as ‘The Hitman’ for his hard-hitting ability, and has scored a record three double-centuries in ODIs, with centuries in Test and T20 formats as well.
Rohit Gurunath Sharma was born in Bansod, Nagpur, Maharashtra on April 30, 1987 to his parents Gurunath Sharma and Purnima Sharma. Rohit Sharma was raised by his grandparents, as his father has limited means to survive and also didn’t sufficient funds to raise him and his younger brother with necessities even. Later on, he was even dropped from the playing 11 of the team in India’s Bangladesh tour in 2009. Due to his poor form, he was not the part of 2011 World Cup. He returned to form, in 2011 against West Indies, he secured his first ‘Man of the Series’ honor for his two half-centuries, including a matching-winning 86 off 91 balls after India were down to 92-6. Sharma made his international debut in test cricket in Sachin Tendulkar’s farewell series.
