Early life
Rishabh Pant’s full name is Rishabh Rajendra Pant was born in Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. He was born on October 4, 1997 to parents Rajendra pant and Saroj Pant. He has completed his education from ‘The Indian Public School’ Dehradun. Talking about his college level studies, he was enrolled to ‘Sri Venkateswara College’ located in New Delhi and affiliated to Delhi University. Keenly interested in cricket from his younger days, Pant received initial cricket coaching from Sonnet cricket academy.
Career
Rishabh Pant always wanted to become a cricketer. He was a big fan of Australian wicket keeping batsman Adam Gilchrist. He was selected in Under-19 team for Delhi. Although he also played for Rajasthan in Under-14 and Under-16 teams, but he faced discrimination for being an
outsider. Then being moving from Rajasthan to Delhi, his batting performance improved very well. He also participated in under-19 World cup and grabbed the record of fastest 50 in world cup history in year 2016. Pant secured his place in national cricket team of India, when he debuted in T20 format on February 1, 2017 against England and later on debuted in One day Internationals and Test format also on October 21, 2018 against West Indies and August 18, 2018 against England. In Indian Premier League, he was first bought by Delhi Daredevils in year 2016 for the amount of 2 crores. He gave tremendous performances in all seasons for Delhi till today. In a short span career, he has also booked various accolades under his name; Pant won the ‘Emerging Player of the season’ award for his match winning performance in IPL for Delhi Daredevils. He has also won the ICC Emerging Player of the year at 2018 ICC Awards.
