About RR Hendricks
RR Hendricks or Reeza Raphael Hendricks is 29 years old South African right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler. He is currently an active player of domestic club Highveld Lions and has made his national debut in a T20I match against Australia in 2014.
RR Hendricks was born on 14th August 1989 in Kimberley, Cape Province, South Africa as Reeza Raphael Hendricks. He made his first debut in a cricket-playing domestic match for Griqualand West in 2006.
He started his early cricket career playing for Griqualand West and later moved with Knights. In 2008 he was part of the U-19 World Cup squad and travelled to Malaysia to play the game. He played for Knights till 2016 and then joined up with Highveld Lions. It was in 2017 when he achieved his first century in T20 match against Dolphins scoring 102 being not out in 2017-18 Ram Slam T20 Challenge. He took over the field with run making ability and scoring 361 runs in just eight matches. This was also the year when he made a record of being the first player to
score a century in all three franchise competitions in South Africa. Highveld Lions signed him again for another season also making a stint appearance for Jozi Stars’ in the Mzansi Super League T20 tournament in first edition where he scored 412 runs in nine innings at a strike rate of 142.56 with four consecutive fifty-plus scores including back to back hundreds. His international career got started with his appearance in T20I against Australia in 2014 followed by selection in 2015 Africa T20 Cup. He also got selected for T20 Global League matches from Pretoria Mavericks’ side that later got cancelled. His ODI debut came back in August 2018 against Sri Lanka setting a record of being the third batsman for South Africa to go for a century in 88 balls on ODI debut. This was also the fastest century by batsman on ODI debut.
