Early life
Sir James Paul McCartney was born on June 18, 1942 in Liverpool, England to his parents James McCartney and Mary Patricia. His father was a cotton salesman and his mother was a midwife. He is the first child of his parents and has one younger sibling. Paul McCartney went to Stockton Wood Primary School. While growing up, he lost his mother due to an ailing disease, which was breast cancer. The death of mother left an impact on Paul, he was shattered and smashed. He befriended a guy named ‘John Lennon’ who also has lost his mother in young age. They bonded well, and Paul joined John’s band named ‘Quarrymen’. This marked the beginning of his first step towards becoming a music legend.
Career
Although started with ‘Quarrymen’, John and Paul later named the band ‘The Beatles’ which does not require any details. Over the course of years, Band included more artists apart from John Lennon, Paul McCartney; they were George Harrison and Ringo Starr. First single from the band was ‘Love me do’ written by McCartney garnered a lot of praise and acknowledgement. In 1965, band released their first official album, which was ‘Help’ which contained a track named ‘yesterday’ it became the most covered song from artists across the world. Paul McCartney is also credited for next flick of ‘The Beatles’ which was ‘SGT Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club band’. It spent 27 weeks at the top of the albums chart in the United Kingdom and won four Grammy Awards in 1968. In year 1970, McCartney left the band, and formed another band named ‘Paul McCartney and wings’. In next years, ‘Paul McCartney and wings’ gave many albums, which are ‘Venus and Mars’, ‘Band on the run’, ‘back to the egg’. The band discontinued in year 1981, because of growing issues over salary. In early 1980s, Paul McCartney faced hardships, as he got arrested for illegal possession of marijuana. The same year John Lennon his former partner was murdered, which left a deep impact on McCartney’s mind. Paul continued touring, performing and recording new albums well into the new millennium of 2000. The albums he released during this period include ‘Ecce Cor Meum’ (2006), ‘Memory Almost Full’ (2007), and ‘Electric Arguments’ (2008).
Personal Life
Paul McCartney has been married three times in his life. First he married a photographer Linda Eastman in year 1967; he also adopted his wife’s daughter from her past relationship. The couple together gave birth to three more children. Linda Eastman died of Breast Cancer in year 1998, just like Paul’s mother.
McCartney tied the wedding knot second time in year 2002, with Heather Mills, a model. However it didn’t last forever and the couple parted ways in year 2008.
At present Paul is married to Nancy Shevell, they married in year 2011.
