OP Stone was born on 9th October 1993 in Norwich, Norfolk, England as Oliver Peter Stone. He has completed his education from Thorpe St Andrew School and joined Northamptonshire Cricket Academy in 2009 to focus on his cricket career.
Career
Oliver started his early cricket career playing for Northamptonshire Cricket Academy since 2009 and later played for Second XI in 2010. His first-team debut was made against Durham in Friends Provident t20 for Northamptonshire in 2011. His teen career witnesses his raw pace which further helped him to get a chance in England Under-19 achieving the best bowling figures against South Africa in youth Test getting 11 for 79 in Paarl in 2013. This made him broke the record set by Richard Pearson in 1991. Not even this he also made a short stint for
Norfolk County Cricket Club in 2011 against Bedfordshire in Minor Counties Championship. His List A debut came up against Warwickshire whereas the first-class debut was against Yorkshire in County Championship. His career highlight was 5 for 44 against Kent turning out as one of the quickest spells in the field. He suffered from a knee injury touring his anterior cruciate ligament in 2016 that left him out of the game for the rest of the season when he landed awkwardly while celebrating the dismissal of Moeen Ali in a NatWest Blast tie against Worcestershire but he came back by signing a deal with Warwickshire in 2017. Talking about his international career he came forward in England’s Test and ODI series against Sri Lanka in September 2018 but made his ODI debut in October 2018. He also got in the squad of Test series against West Indies but got a stress fracture in his lower back resting for six to twelve weeks and missing out his Test series.
