Meghan Markle is Los Angeles born former American actress and is now known for her royal touch as being a member of the British royal family after marrying Prince Harry in 2018. Markle now holds the title of Duchess of Sussex.
Early Life
Meghan was born on 4th August 1981 in Los Angeles, California as Rachel Meghan Markle to Doria Ragland and Thomas Markle.
Her father is a retired TV director whereas the mother is a social worker and yoga instructor working in California.
She witnessed her parent’s separation at the young age of six and also got paternal half-siblings; Samantha Markle and Thomas Markle Jr.
For education, she attended Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse, Immaculate Heart High School and Northwestern University where she graduated with a bachelor's degree and double major in theatre and international studies.
She then supported herself as a freelance calligrapher before moving on to acting.
Career
She started her acting career in 2002 from a TV medical drama, General Hospital, in the short role of Jill for a single episode.
She further appeared in the number of TV series before landing in the recurring role of Rachel Zane in legal drama series, Suits.
Aside from acting she also became the famous personality to speak on issues like gender inequality and for featuring a column profiling influential women on her lifestyle website, The Tig.
She is also working with some charitable organizations since 2010 and has launched a line of clothing recognizing her fashion and style in 2016.
At present, being introduced as a member of the British royal family she has closed down her social media accounts and has even got retired from an acting career to focus on public engagements on behalf of the royal family. Now she is being named as Duchess of Sussex.
Personal Life
She got married twice. Her first marriage was with actor and producer, Trevor Engelson, in 2011 which ended up soon with divorce in 2013.
She then dated celebrity chef, Cory Vitiello, ending up in 2016. In June 2016, Prince Harry met her on a blind date and both started seeing each other finally tying the knot on 19th May 2018.
Now they are expecting their first child which is seventh in line to the throne.
