Martha Mcsally is an American Politician. She represents Republic party and presently serving as the Junior U.S Senator for Arizona. Mcsally previously served as Arizona’s second congressional district in the United States House of Representatives; there she served on the Armed services and homeland security committees. Martha Mcsally was the Republican nominee for the ‘Arizona’s 2018 U.S Senate Election’, she lost to Democratic nominee Kyrsten Sinema.
Early life
Martha Mcsally was born in Warwick, Rhode Island on March 22nd, 1966 to her parents Bernard and Eleanor. Her father worked as a lawyer and her mother was a reading specialist. Mcsally was the youngest child to her parents. Martha Mcsally went to ‘St. Mary’s Academy’ in Bayview, there she was sexually assaulted by her one professor. Marth Mcsally completed her master’s degree from Harvard University.
Career
Martha Mcsally was appointed to United States Air force Academy from years 1988 to 2010, as a fighter pilot and professor. Later she tried for politics; she announced her candidature for Arizona’s 8th Congressional district, she was an unsuccessful candidate by the Republican Party. In 2014 election, Mcsally announced to run again for the 2nd district seat in 2014. She is the only the second Republican ever to represent a southern Arizona-based district in the U.S. House of Representatives; the first was Jim Kolbe, who represented what is now the 2nd district, from 1985 to 2007. McSally is also the first female Republican representative from Arizona. Mcsally was elected and appointed as the United States Senate on January 3, 2019; she filled the vacancy which occurred due to the death of John Sidney McCain III, she will hold the office ill the term January 3, 2020.
