About L Sipamla
L Sipamla or Lutho Sipamla is 21 years old South African right-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He made his national debut for South African squad in February 2019 against Pakistan in T20I whereas on the domestic side he is playing for Eastern Province.
Early Life
L Sipamla was born on 12th May 1998 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa as Lutho Sipamla. He attended Grey High School where he started playing his early cricket. Among his interests, he likes to spend time with friends and family and loves good pasta. He usually says if he wasn’t playing cricket then he would have gone for being chartered accountant.
He fell in love for the game and joined the cricket academy in Port Elizabeth. Considering his role models he has Michael Holding, Brett Lee and Makhaya Ntini.
Career
He started his cricket career by playing for domestic matches for Eastern Province in First-class debut against Border at Port Elizabeth on January 5-7, 2017 followed by a List A debut for Eastern Province at Bloemfontein on 12th February 2017. He was
also
part of a team playing for 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
In 2018, he went for Africa T20 Cup as a player of Eastern Province club where he made his debut on 14th September 2018 followed by his entry in Mzansi Super League T20 tournament for Tshwane Spartans squad in the first edition. This inning brought him 16 dismissals in ten matches thus becoming the leading wicket-taker for the Eastern.
This year was also successful from the point of his selection in Cricket South Africa Emerging Squad. Soon he got his first international debut in T20I against Pakistan in January 2019 with his next T20I match against Sri Lanka in March 2019.
