Kevin Spacey Bio
Kevin Spacey is 59 years old American actor, producer and singer. He came to limelight for his role performed on stage shows and later jumped on to TV series and films like The Usual Suspects (1995), Seven (1995) and Superman Returns (2006). He was recently working with Netflix original TV series, House of Cards, from 2013 but now got cut off from the series after allegations of sexual harassment was placed on him by Anthony Rapp in 2017.
Kevin was born on 26th July, 1959 in South Orange, New Jersey as Kevin Spacey Fowler to Kathleen Ann and Thomas Geoffrey Fowler. He was raised in his hometown with three older siblings; two brothers Rod Stewart, Randy Fowler and a sister, Julie Ann Fowler Keir. His mother was a personal secretary by profession whereas father was a technical writer with irregular jobs. He was four when the family got settled in Southern California but was not quite happy from his father who was a Nazi disciple and used to beat children. He attended Chatsworth High School to enhance his amateur acting career and later went for Los Angeles Valley College but left out to join drama program at Juilliard. He then signed up for New York Shakespeare Festival leaving out the Juilliard diploma.
He made his first performance on stage as a messenger in the 1981 production of “Henry VI”. After a year gap, he performed on Broadway stage for the first time playing as Oswald in the Ghosts play. He soon became a busy personality playing in The Misanthrope, The Seagull and Hurlyburly on stage. He received critical acclaim after performing in the play, Lost in Yonkers, by Neil Simon.
For this he was awarded with 1990 Tony Award and also received praise for his role in The Iceman Cometh in 1998. After a huge success in theatre work he was appointed as Theatre’s Artistic Director in 2004 which he continued till 2015.
Kevin further planned for TV series making appearances in The Crime Story, Heartburn, L.A.Law, The Equalizer, Smart Guy and The Murder of Mary Phagan. He then landed into the Oscar giving role of Verbal in the detective film, The Usual Suspects followed by Seven bringing him international stardom. Some of his feature hits include L.A. Confidential (1997), American Beauty (1999), Pay It Forward (2000), K-PAX (2001), Beyond the Sea (2004), and Superman Returns (2006). In 2013, he worked for Netflix original drama House of Cards for which he got both Golden Globe and Emmy nominations winning the former one in 2015 but now he has been removed from the cast following the accusation by actor Anthony Rapp on him for sexual harassment in 2017.
Nothing was known about his personal life until in 2017 when he announced being homosexual.
It is estimated to be around $5 million.
