Kamala Devi Harris is a US junior Senator from the state of California, United States. She is an honorable member of the Democratic Party and serving her term with Dianne Feinstein. She also worked as the Attorney General of California from the year 2011 to 2017. During the 1990s, she worked as the Alameda County District Attorney and dated Willie Brown who was the State Assembly Speaker of the state. However, the couple separated when Brown selected as the Mayor of San Francisco. She married the California attorney Douglas Emhoff on 22ndAugust 2014. She has a sister whose name is Maya Harris and worked as the MSNBC political analyst whereas her brother-in-law Tony Wester is the General Counsel of Uber.
She was born into an Indian-Jamaican family on 20thOctober 1964. Her mother ShyamalaGopalan Harris was Tamil Indian whereas Kamala’s father Donald Harris is of Jamaican descent. Her mother emigrated from India in 1960, whereas Harris’s father was an economics professor who emigrated from Jamaica in 1961.

When she was only seven years old, her parents divorced with each other and Harris’s mother got her custody. She moves to Montreal, Quebec soon after that with her mother due to her mother’s teaching job at the McGill University. Kamala Harris completed her schooling from the Westmount High School, whereas her higher studies take place in the Howard University. She was freshman class representative and debate team member in the university. Soon after completing her degree in economics, she earns Juris Doctor from the Hastings College of Law in 1989. Harris entered the State Bar of California in the year 1990.
