KK Jennings or Keaton Kent Jennings is 26 years old South African-English left-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler. He currently plays for the domestic club Lancashire and for the England squad.
Early Life
KK Jennings was born on 19th June, 1992 in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa as Keaton Kent Jennings to Ray Jennings. He also has an older brother named Dylan Jennings and an uncle named Kenneth Jennings active in the world of cricket playing for South Africa. His father has also played for South Africa in the first class cricket from 1973 to 1993. For studies he has attended King Edward VII School, Johannesburg. His mother was born in Sunderland so he holds dual citizenship of South Africa and England.
Career
He started his cricket career by playing for South Africa making his debut in 2011 for Gauteng. He further headed towards playing some youth international cricket for the Proteas before making his final move to England. While playing for Under-19 South African team he got named as captain in 2011. He then played for
Durham in 2012 making his first debut against Surrey and scoring his first class century in 2013 against Derbyshire. Being a player of England, his career took a shape in fine style in 2016 season when at age 24, he managed to get named as the County Championship player of the year by the Cricket Writer’s Club for being the leading run-scorer in the competition with 1,548 runs at an average of 64.5 with seven hundreds, including a double century against Yorkshire and also with his career best made with Durham the 88 runs in the NatWest Blast thus being the highest score during the Twenty20 finals day.
This was also the year when he got named in England senior Test squad against India where he scored his century thus becoming the 101st person and the third English cricketer to do so against India. He was later dropped from the test team on replacement with Mark Stoneman but soon got recalled for the same in May 2018 after watching his good form in the County Championship for Lancashire.
